TroubleshootingContact UsSecurity
First things first, before setting up the system, make sure that the administrator area is secured. To do this, go to Settings > Security section in the administrator area.
You have two security features:
- Restricting IP access to the administrator area
- Enabling two factor authentication
IP Restriction
If you have a static IP address (such as VPN), you should definitely consider activating this security feature.
Simply go to [Admin Area → Settings → Security] section and write IP addresses (one IP per line) which you want to give access to the administrator area.
Next time you try to login to the administrator area, if you are not connecting from one of those authorized IP addresses, Oempro will not let you in.
Two Factor Authentication
If your administrator username and password is captured by third parties, if two factor authentication is enabled, they will not be able to login to the administrator area unless a one-time code is generated on your mobile device (or 2FA generator app).
Go to [Admin Area → Settings → Security] section and scan the QR code (or write the secret key below the QR code) on your two factor authentication app:
Once you scan the QR code on your 2FA app, it will show you a one-time use 6-digit code. Write that code into the field displayed above.
Once you update your security settings, next time you login, you will need to enter a 2FA code along with your username and password.
If you haven’t used a 2FA app before, you may try one of these;
- Google Authenticator
- Twilio Authy
