Reverse Proxy
The main purpose of setting up a reverse proxy in the front of the Octeth infrastructure is to keep Octeth in 100% secured and private network and expose reverse proxy IP address(es) to the public only.
In this way, you 100% avoid public access to the Octeth infrastructure and for link and open tracking URL’s, you use a reverse proxy solution.
For this purpose, we strongly recommend the Caddy reverse proxy server which has also on-demand Let’s Encrypt SSL management for your link and email open tracking links.

There are two advantages of the reverse proxy applied setup:
- Your Octeth server stays behind the firewall and no one knows the IP address of your Octeth infrastructure. It’s 100% secured. No public access is allowed.
- You don’t have to setup SSL certificates for your tracking link domains manually. The Caddy reverse proxy will handle it on-demand using Let’s Encrypt.
